Projects/Evaluating GamesWe’re interested in finding the best ways to measure whether games are achieving the effects that designers intend, as well as finding evaluation methods that bring player insights more deeply into the design process. We co-created the Sensual Evaluation Instrument (SEI), a nonverbal self-reporting tool for giving emotional responses about a game or other interactive system, and we’ve co-edited a book about current best practices in game usability.
